About Me

Hello! I'm Emma and welcome to my Thread!

I'm a 29 year old crafter from the Midlands. I grew up in Nottingham, lived in Birmingham after going to uni there and now live in Coventry with my boyfriend. Meaning I no longer have an accent but still call a bread roll a 'cob'.

My interest in craft started with cross stitch which I have been doing for over 20 years. I'm a stitcher for the charity Love Quilts UK which I urge you to check out if you're interested in stitching or quilting!

I've gradually branched out into other types of sewing including dressmaking, as well as papercraft (particularly card making) and in the last 18 months, pyrography. Which is using a wood burning pen to write/draw on wood. (I felt I had to clarify that as everyone always says 'what?!' when I mention the word 'pyrography').

In 'real life', I work at an advertising agency. It's not your average office job but it's not all 'Mad Men' either...or brainstorming on bean bags and eating pizza as my sister likes to tell people.

The majority of things I make are gifts for people - usually tailored to the interests of that person. I'm afraid I don't sell anything I make and don't have an Etsy store. Hopefully this blog helps you to make your own though...and in the most cost-effective way!
